Clik here to view.Tomorrow on 22nd June (23rd depending on your slot) the State of Symfony 2 online conference will take place.
Numerous interesting topics are announced covering the current state of sf2, Propel 1.5 and Doctrine 2.
There will also be some insights into the new form framework and some other enhancements.
However there is also going to be relealed the next killer feature!
So what could it be?
Apart from it I am interested especially in learning about the new form framework as the current one seems chunky and far too verbose and not very intuitive (though very powerful and flexible). Also looking forward to learning about some other enhancements and the Doctrine 2 integration plans. I’m not very concerned about Propel 1.5 as I am using Doctrine mostly.
But I bet most of us attending are curious about the said to be killer feature.
I’ve got no idea of what it is though I remember a conversation with Fabien in December of last year where he described an idea of having an HTTP cache layer (like Squid, Varnish or Akamai) implemented in PHP. You would be able to use it to cache whole pages locally on your file system similar to sfSuperCachePlugin. However the real benefit would not be a local cache facility but a means to test caching without the need to deploy your application to the productive environments where you usually have all your caches available. This would be a great step towards simulating the live environment without the risk of publicity.
Now I’m even more curious about the killer feature. What will it be? and Am I right? Image may be NSFW.
